Wheel Weigh Pads
The Griffith Elder Wheel Pads are tough, rugged easy-to-use portable scales for weighing vehicles almost anywhere. They can be carried on the vehicle for weighing away from base and are ideal for preventing axle overloads and maximising payloads.
Simple to Operate
In operation the system is simple. To use the Wheel weigh Pads all the operator has to do is to switch the weigher on. The pads have been factory calibrated for maximum accuracy, and have been designed to maintain a high level of accuracy while being used on both level and uneven ground. No special setting up is needed, just drop them on the floor and plug them in.

Two Models
There are two models of wheel weigh pads. The HC model, which have high capacity at 10 tonnes per wheel (20 tonnes per axle) and the LW model, which are ultra-lightweight with a capacity of 5 tonnes per wheel (10 tonnes per axle).

Weigh Sensors
The weigh pads have weight sensors built into them which are both waterproof and very robust. These communicate with the indicator or computer using a Weightel™ (digital signal) which has a unique communication protocol to keep the weights true at all times.
This digital system makes the pads truly Plug-And-Weigh. This means that any pad or numbers of pads can be plugged in to the indicator at the same time, as needed.
The Griffith Elder wheel weigh pads are manufactured from a high strength light weight aluminium alloy and the overall weight of each pad is 19 kg for the HC model and a mere 9 kg for the LW model. Hence the pads are easily lifted and carried by one person.
Automatic weighing
Weighing a vehicle is a very fast driver only operation. When a weight is detected on the pads the electronics waits for it to become steady and then catches the weight into memory. A light comes on to indicate to the driver when to move to the next set of wheels. Each set of wheels is weighed and automatically gets put into memory without the operator doing anything. When all the axles have been weighed the indicator automatically adds the weights together and, if a printer is fitted, prints out the ticket showing ticket number, date, time, weight of each part and total weight of the vehicle. The indicator and printer are built into a tough waterproof suitcase housing for ease of carrying between locations. When the lid is closed the printer is completely waterproof which makes it very suitable for carrying in the vehicle with the weigh-pads. Griffith
For logging on a computer a laptop is available with full software. The reports can then be transferred from each laptop to a single main computer for analysis of the data from all the weights from many sets of wheel pads. The whole system operates from 12 volts dc and has its own internal battery which can be charged from a car battery. Hence no mains power is needed which gives maximum flexibility for using the wheel pads in remote locations. Wiring to the sensors is all plug-in with quick release plugs which are easily accessible.
